Mother of 3 y/o - language delay

"Kristen is the absolute best speech therapist you could find for your child. I was a first-time mom with a child who was not developing his language skills as he should. I was scared, nervous, and felt like a failure. Meeting Kristen is the day all of our lives changed. My son started coming out of the shell. She made me feel like I did not fail my son and gave me constant support and handled all of my questions with such grace and patience. I know I asked the same things over and over, and she always answered with enthusiasm and care. She was always great about going over what they were doing that day and how I could keep that going at home. She taught me tricks and tools that I could use daily with my son so even I could help him more. I knew that she loved and cared for my child. I never had any doubts when I would pass him along to her for their sessions, and every day he came back to me with the biggest smile on his face. She really knew who he was as a person, and during their time he was her top priority. The best part of seeing Kristen and going to speech therapy as a whole was now my son has his own personality. He was finally able to communicate with us and be who he wanted to be. He had this new confidence that I know I could not have given him on my own. We saw Kristen consistently, and my son went from saying a few words and being frustrated when he could not form a sentence correctly to just finishing preschool with children his own age, and his speech delay never stopped him from participating or making friends. I know this could have never happened if we had not met Kristen and given her our full trust. I truly do believe that it takes a village when raising children, and I am so thankful Kristen is part of ours!!"

Mother of 3 y/o - autism spectrum disorder

I've had the absolute pleasure of being able to take my son to see Kristen. My son was with Ms. Kristen for little over a year and a half and the progress he made with her truly astounds me. My son is 3 years old and is autistic and is pretty much considered nonverbal. When he first came to see Ms. Kristen, he wasn't really making eye contact or even trying to pronounce words. He didn't know what the meaning was for "mama or dada" and it broke my heart because I never thought I would hear him call me mommy or say I love you. Ms. Kristen truly cracked his shell and after being with her, he is now saying and recognizing numbers, letters, animals, sounds, me and his father and brother. He talks up a storm (when he wants to of course). He is even starting to put words together and know what those words mean. I honestly believe that if it wasn't for Ms. Kristen, we wouldn't have gotten this far. I am truly grateful for knowing her and I am so grateful for the progress she made with my son.

Mother of 10 y/o - articulation delay

My 4th-grade son has been doing speech at his school since Kindergarten. While working with the school, I never saw an improvement in his R’s. I had always asked if I needed to add private therapy and they always told me "No he is doing great". The summer before his 3rd-grade year, we had spent time with family and friends who we hadn’t seen in a year. They all expressed their concern with me about how they haven’t seen an improvement and still couldn’t understand him. With this information and my growing concern, I went back to the school and expressed my feelings during the start of his 3rd-grade year. But was told the same thing, that he is doing well and not to worry. Then the pandemic hit and all of his therapy came to a stop. I was terrified of what was going to happen to him. I made the decision to take him to a private therapist. This was the best decision I could have made for him and am fortunate to have found Kristen Knowsley, M.S. CCC-SLP. I cannot say enough about how amazing and awe-inspiring she is. She had my son for 3 months and within the first 2 weeks, we saw the biggest improvement. Not to mention, my son loved working with her. After each session, she talked to me about what they had worked on, gave us homework, and explained what exactly we needed to do to help him grow.  She took a different approach than what the school was doing and nailed it!! I saw my son’s confidence grow and his excitement to continue to work on his R’s. He would come out of his session beaming with pride. It blows my mind how he worked with the school for 3 years and it only took him 3 months with Kristen Knowsley, M.S. CCC-SLP.  Using Kristen Knowsley, M.S. CCC-SLP as your child’s therapist will be the best gift you could give them.

Mother of 4 y/o - phonological delay

Ms. Kristen identified my four year old daughter for speech services after I felt my cries for help went unheard with other providers.  She quickly built a rapport with my precocious child and came up with hands on activities which kept her occupied even during virtual lessons.  Ms. Kristen developed fun activities for us to do at home to further develop her skills which my child didn’t even realize were learning activities because she was having so much fun.  With her help, I watched my child blossom from being barely understood to now being able to say most words clearly after being in her care. I couldn’t recommend a better speech therapist!

“We couldn’t be happier with the speech therapy services provided by Kristen. We received her information from another family that highly recommended her services and spoke great things about their daughter’s progress. Kristen’s care, patience, and professionalism have been outstanding. My daughter has truly thrived and progressed under her treatment plan. The convenience of coming to us was the best! I wholeheartedly recommend this speech therapist to anyone in need.”
